What Are Cookies?
Disabling and Deleting Cookies
You can prevent the setting of cookies entirely by adjusting the settings on your browser (see your browser Help for how to do this). Be aware that disabling cookies will affect the functionality of this and many other websites that you visit. Disabling cookies will usually result in also disabling certain functionality and features of not only this site but most other websites that you visit. Therefore it is recommended that you do not disable cookies entirely, but instead be conscious as to which ones you allow to set cookies on your device.
Most modern browsers will also provide an easy way of deleting cookies that have already been set on your device, including cookies set by this website. This can have unexpected and unintended results, such as signing you out of websites you are already signed in to, or a website "forgetting" any settings or preferences you had previously set, so it is done at your own risk and is not advised unless you know exactly what the results will be. Again, see your browser Help for more information.
The Cookies We Set
Squarespace, the platform this website is built on, uses Analytics and Performance cookies to collect information about how visitors interact with this site. Storing these cookies allows Squarespace to populate data which Victory Over All can analyse, such as traffic sources and the number of unique visitors. You can view a list of the exact cookies that Squarespace uses here: About the cookies Squarespace uses
Google Analytics Cookies
This site also uses Google Analytics which is one of the most widespread and trusted analytics solutions on the web, helping Victory Over All to further understand how visitors use the site and ways that we can improve the content and provide more of what people like to see. These cookies may track things such as how long visitors spend on the site and the pages that they visit so we can continue to produce engaging content. For more information on Google Analytics cookies, how Google protects this information, and exactly what information they collect, you can read through the information provided here: Safeguarding your data — Google Analytics Help
Other Third Party Cookies
We also use social media buttons and/or plugins on this site that allow you to connect with your social network in various ways. For these to work, some social media sites including Twitter, Facebook, Google +, Reddit and Pinterest, may set cookies through our site which may be used to contribute to the data they hold for various purposes outlined in their respective privacy policies. These buttons/plugins are used for sharing things like blog posts to your social media pages/profiles, but this is a manual action carried out by you and they will never automatically access your social media accounts to post anything without your knowledge.
So, what information does Victory Over All collect?
As detailed above, there is a range of information that Victory Over All has access to, provided by Squarespace and Google Analytics and the cookies they utilise. All of this information has been anonymised wherever possible, so that Victory Over All cannot identify any specific individuals from the data that is collected. This information includes:
- The device types used by visitors (Desktop, Mobile, etc.)
- Traffic sources (which other websites referred visitors to this website)
- The browser used to view this website (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc.)
- Operating systems used by visitors of this website (Android, iOS, Windows, macOS, etc.)
- The number of active visitors currently on this website
- How many visitors are new visitors
- How long a visitor spends on this website
- The pages visited on this website by each visitor
- How many “page hits” individual pages of this website have received
- The country and city/region of visitors to this website
- The preferred language of visitors
- The internet service provider used by visitors
- The screen resolution of visitors using a mobile device
- Form and button conversions (how many times a particular form or button has been used/clicked)
- Search engine keywords (statistics on keywords people have entered into a search engine which have listed this website in their results)
Squarespace provides an analytics feature called "Activity Log" which would usually track an individual's IP address, what pages they visited and when, and relay this information to the website owner/admin/contributors. This feature has been voluntarily disabled for this website by Victory Over All, as an IP address is deemed as personally identifiable information. This reduces the accuracy of the analytics data, however Victory Over All values the privacy of the visitors to this website over the accuracy of analytics.
Who sees this information and will it be shared?
Victory Over All is the only party has access to and does not share any of the information that is gathered with any other external parties. This information, although anonymous, could still be deemed sensitive by some, so it will never be openly shared and never sold. This information is never downloaded, exported, printed or saved to any external service, location or device outside of those provided by the parties who set the cookies, detailed above.
